Marc Bughman, GIA - designer
A graduate of the PA College of Arts & Design with a major in illustration and an Accredited Jewelry Professional of the Gemological Institute of America for diamonds and gemstones, Marc Bughman (pronounced Bookman) has merged the best of both worlds to become a top designer at Finch Jewelers.
When he sits down with a client he typically grabs a pencil and piece of paper and sketches throughout the conversation. Extremely personable, always with a smile, Marc takes a lot of time to ask questions and truly understand what his clients are looking for – all the while making a series of drawings that eventually lead to "that's exactly what I want!"
"I grew up with Tina, Ron Finch's older daughter, and have been part of the family since elementary school. I had a background in illustration and design, but was working in the retail clothing industry when six years ago I decided to make a career change to utilize my illustration degree. I understood the importance of customer service and had a lot of respect for the direction Ron Finch was taking in terms of building a great business."
Marc clearly enjoys the creative side of his work. As an artist who also does oil painting and watercolor, his education has given him a unique perspective that he applies to every design. A recent favorite is a full-size pansy pendant that incorporates layers of green, rose, yellow and white gold accented with multiple colors of diamonds. "It was an extraordinary collaboration with the customers, and we both love the resulting piece. It's subtle in the way the various colors work together, yet over the top in terms of making a statement that fits her personality.
In addition to design, Marc handles all of the engraving, from silver baby cups and spoons to rings, charms and bracelets.
