Owner Ronald Finch holds the distinction of being the only jeweler in Pennsylvania who is both a Master Bench Jeweler certified through Jewelers of America and a Graduate Gemologist. Ron takes great pride in creating signature masterpieces with his customers. Ron actively participates in opportunities that keep him abreast of changes in the constantly evolving jewelry industry.
Ron began his jewelry career in April 1969 at CL Davis Jewelry Store, located in Akron, Ohio. Inspired by his time at CL Davis, Ron furthered his career through a degree program in the jewelry industry. Ron's talent and potential earned him an invitation to pursue his education In Lancaster, Pennsylvania at Bowman's Technical School, America's oldest watchmaking and jewelry school. An adept student, Ron completed courses in hand engraving in April of 1973, and then went on to complete his courses in jewelry repair and stone settings in November of 1973.
Ron flourished as a student in Lancaster, and upon graduation, decided to adopt the beautiful area as his new home. Locally, he worked for several successful jewelry stores gaining valuable experience.
Ron believes strongly in keeping up with the constantly evolving technology of the jewelry industry, and he continuously seeks to further his education and expertise. He received his Graduate Gemologist Certificate from the Gemological Institute of America in August of 1997 and his Certified Masters Bench Jeweler from Jewelers of America in June 2001.
In June of 2001, Ron bought the Jeweler's Workshop and has cultivated the store from a small 2-jeweler operation into a state-of-the-art custom retail and design center with four on-site jewelers. Ron has also invested in the technology of the jewelry industry through training and operations in CAD design and laser welding.
Throughout his career, Ron Finch has trained more than a dozen bench jewelers. He helps cultivate public interest in the jewelry industry through articles and interviews with local media. Not only is he interested in his own growth and education, but he also encourages that of others. Whether it is sharing what he has learned at a recent training with his own jewelers, or allowing high school students to tour the facility, Ron Finch has fully committed himself to the jewelry industry.
As an example of Ron's continued advancement in jewelry setting and design, he recently trained with Ron Smith, a world famous firearms engraver who has earned a high level of respect in the engraving community. Ron has also studied under Jura, an acclaimed Russian trained diamond setter that lives in Holland and is a European master diamond setter.
This past year, Ron had the honor of being accepted into an elite Grand Master Class at the world-renowned GRS training center. Attending the Grand Master Class in Micro-Pavé Diamond Setting placed Ron in a world class of diamond setters.
